Mario Impemba

Biography:
The 2009 season is the ninth for Mario Impemba as FSN's Tigers play-by-play announcers. Impemba, a Detroit native and graduate of Michigan State University, joined FSN after seven seasons as the radio and fill-in television play-by-play man for the Anaheim Angels. Prior to joining the Angels in 1995, Impemba spent four seasons (1991-94) calling games for the Tucson Toros of the Pacific Coast League. From 1989-90, he was the voice of the Quad City Angels single-A team in Davenport, IA. Impemba spent 1987-88 in Peoria, IL, where he announced games for the Peoria Chiefs single-A baseball club; served as sports director at WXCL Radio; and did play-by-play for the Peoria Rivermen of the International Hockey League.
