With the loss of owner and NBA Hall of Fame Member, William Davidson,  still fresh in the minds of Palace personnel, it was with delight that Detroit Shock fans greeted Mrs. Karen Davidson the new majority owner of the Pistons and WNBA SHOCK.  Mrs. Davidson was joined by Tom Wilson, President of Basketball Operations, and WNBA League President, Donna Orender, to hand out the WNBA Championship rings to the 2008 team on June 8, 2009. Coach Bill Laimbeer was delighted with the ring as was DSBA-Shock MVP Deanna Nolan and her teammates....as the banner was pulled to the rafters of the Palace it joined 2 other WNBA Championship banners and 3 Pistons NBA Championship banners (not to mention Laimbeer's retired jersey).  The ceremony preceeded the home opening game vs. the LA Sparks.
